The Mayor: these bicycle parking racks are “totally aesthetic and normal”

Miracle has not happen: the Executive Committee agreed bicycle parking racks as a medium for advertising. 8 "bike racks" in the center of the city (actually they are weird advertising designs) can now be considered "legal".

Tellingly, the decision to issue permits for the advertisement was taken, already by common practice, after the fact – that is, the designs that already have been "decorating" the city center for a while, were first installed without approvals.

During the discussion of the draft decision, the mayor said: "If anyone says something about the moratorium, the moratorium applies not to all advertising, but only to billboards. And these bicycle parking racks are totally aesthetic and normal, I talked with the architect. But, Kasperov, they must pay money to the budget." 

Note: Previously the concerned public and cycling community have expressed their skepticism about those "parking racks", asking not to confuse those advertising designs with cycling infrastructure element. Instead they published the list of places where bicycles racks would be desirable.

Also, the Executive Committee has identified space for social advertising – the boards with congratulations on the Independence Day.
