The making of the giant flower trident in Uzhgorod took a whole day and three thousand real chrysanthemums (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

An original feature of this year’s celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine in Transcarpathia is a giant trident made of real flowers on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod. The emblem of Ukraine, which stretches for seven meters from the base to the top, is laid on a banner blue-yellow cloth measuring 8 by 8 meters. To create the trident, florists used three thousand real white chrysanthemums.

The work took a whole day.

On August 22, florists brought flowers and supplies to the foyer of the regional state administration and until the next morning, almost without breaks, were arranging flowers on floral oases (a special spongy material that holds water and feeds flowers). The work was completed by 10 am on the 23rd of August – two hours before the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to Shevchenko and a solemn procession with a 100-meter-long State Flag.

The flower arrangement in the shape of a giant trident and a photo zone will stay on Narodna Square until Monday. This is a gift to Transcarpathians from the Regional State Administration and Uzhhorod City Council to the Independence Day of Ukraine.
