The main symbol of the country was raised in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

In Uzhgorod, on Narodna Square, there were celebrations to mark the Flag Day of Ukraine.  Military, border guards, police officers and rescuers lined there.

The meeting was opened by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, who then together with Uzhgorod Mayor Victor Pogorelov raised the national flag over the square.

After that, accompanied by the Transcarpathian Folk Choir, they laid flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
