The main border guard of Ukraine inspected the Transcarpathian border

The head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during the working visit to the Western Regional Directorate units, stopped in Transcarpathia, the press service of the State Border Guard Service reported.

First of all, the head of the service met with the servicemen and staff of the Chop border guard detachment. Petro Tsyhykal asked about the preparedness of this unit for the fulfillment of the set tasks for the protection of the state border. In particular, the head of the State Border Guard Service was interested in the issues of the logistical support, combat readiness of the servicemen, training resources, living conditions of the newly arrived soldiers, etc.

During his visit, Petro Tsyhykal also discussed key issues, in particular the counteraction to smuggling activities and prevention of illegal migration in the region.

The head of the Service also talked about increasing the effectiveness of the border guard system. Petro Tsyhykal told about the establishment of such a system that would allow to increase the physical presence of border guards at the border in order to strengthen the counteraction to organized crime, including the illegal transportation of smuggled tobacco products and the fight against illegal migration.

Recall that in July the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration signed an order to intensify counteraction to smuggling of tobacco products across the Ukrainian-Romanian border within Transcarpathian region.
