The lustration at the Transcarpathian Security Service of Ukraine will start in May

The lustration at the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region will start in May. Preliminary, under the law "On lustration of power", more than 300 employees are to be checked at the Office – mostly officers, who can be dismissed from the service only by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The lustration of Transcarpathian security service officers will be carried out by the Central Office of the Security Service of Ukraine. This was announced in an interview with the Transcarpathian weekly "Fest" by the acting head of the Security Servcie of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region Volodymyr Heletey.  

Under the law "On lustration of power", those individuals, who have worked in the KGB, are also to be dismissed and prohibited to hold offices for 10 years.
