Ukrinfraproekt specialists have selected four potential locations for the construction of a new airport in Transcarpathia. Those are Mukachevo, Khust, the villages of Serednye and Rativtsi.
This was reported in a comment to the CFTS by the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects (Ukrinfraproekt). These four locations are the final list and the airport will be built at one of them. Field work to determine the best place will begin in November. The construction itself will last three years and will cost 3-4 billion hryvnias.
The existing Uzhgorod airport does not meet the necessary requirements, it is inconvenient due to its proximity to the Slovak border.
As reported, the Slovak logistics company Vedecko-vyskumna, A.C. may take over the concession of Uzhgorod airport. The European investor will help to quickly restore the full operation of the airport.
