The legality of investing in Vodokanal will be investigated by the special commission

The Mayor intended to propose to the next meeting of the Executive Committee the issue on a draft agreement on joint venture of the Uzhgorod Vodokanal and an investor.

The current cost of water does not allow the company to pay for electricity – the mayor said. "The previous municipality gave Vodokanal in concession. We are against such a way. However, now the enterprise property is being seized," – Victor Pogorelov said. And he proposed to consider the joint venture agreement – he said that after the consideration at the executive committee the document will remain just a draft decision.

However, as the City Prosecutor Ivan Shtefanyuk pointed out, in December, after the relevant decision of the session, the management of Vodokanal asked the prosecutor to assess the legality of signing the contract. "We need to create a special commission and to carefully examine the matter, because there are questions about the legality of this procedure," – the prosecutor said.

That is all what was decided – to form a commission, but no mentions of voting and its members have been made. Thus, so far there is no answer to the question of whether they eventually will give part of Vodokanal property to investors, and when the reorganization of the enterprise will be implemented.
