The Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater spent September on tour. Transcarpathians successfully performed at the theater festivals in Ivano-Frankivsk and in the city of Drohobych (Lviv region).
Recently, the theater returned from Kyiv, where they presented its latest premiere "What do willows are weeping about?" based on the play by Karpenko-Kary and the children’s musical "Mowgli". The annual tour in the capital is a good tradition of the Transcarpathian theater. This year, in addition to Kyiv, they also performed in Bila Tserkva and Obukhiv.
Vasyl Shershun, artistic director of theater and the director of the play "What are willows weeping about?" considers the tour successful, the performances were sold out, and the audience and critics responded favorably.
"We have passed an examination before the demanding Kyiv audience, – Vasyl Shershun says. – The theater proved its ability. Indeed, in recent years, a lot of young people have joined the company. Even if they have no theatrical education, but they learn and grow at rehearsals and on stage. So even Kyiv colleagues envies our young actors – their plasticity, mobility.
"You have an ensemble cast on the stage" – they would tell us. So I plan to continue using our youth in my productions. Let them grow!".
The Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Drama Theater will be come onto its own stage on 16th of October. On that day, the jubilee 70th theater season will begin.
