Following the prosecutors intervention, the lease on 44 hectares of land, which Irshava officials had provided for fish farming at a lower cost, was canceled
Irshava district court fully upheld the claim of Transcarpathian Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office for supervision of the observance of laws on environmental protection, filed in the interest of the state represented by Irshava District State Administration to Velyky Rakovets village council and one of the farmers to invalidate the lease of land of the water fund in area of over 44 hectares worth about 300,000 UAH.
As the inspection revealed, the plot of land in question was leased to an individual for fish farming purposes under the order of Irshava DSA head back in 2007. However, the lease for this land was concluded by an unqualified party – Velyky Rakovets village council, not by Irshava DSA.
Also, as seen from the collected materials, the fee for use of water fund lands (which was paid on the basis of the above lease agreement that the court has invalidated) was unreasonably low, and the inspection of the Interdistrict Prosecutors in this part is ongoing.
In connection with such violations of the law, the prosecutors made a submission to the Velyky Rakovets village head, upon consideration of which, the engineer-surveyor of the local government body has been brought to justice.
