Pavlo Chuchka was born on February 22, 1928 in the village of Baranyntsi, he was a Ukrainian linguist. Pavlo Chuchka studied Ukrainian dialects, modern and historical onomastics, language of literary monuments, contacts of Ukrainian language with its neighbors.
In 2005, the unique Index of names of Transcarpathian Ukrainians was released. In 2011, Pavlo Chuchka presented the book "Slavic personal names of Ukrainians", which he had been working on for 40 years.
The legendary linguist died at the age of 88.
