The International Roma Day will be celebrated in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On April 8, in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Hall, there will be celebrations and a festive concert on the occasion of the International Roma Day. The traditional event will be held on the initiative of the Society of Musical Culture of Transcarpathian Roma "Lautari" and with the support of the departments of culture and nationalities and religions of the Regional State Administration.

Guests of the Gypsy festival will see vivid and colorful performances by prominent regional groups – Roma and those who have themed songs in their repertoire. Those are, in particular, song and dance ensemble "Sonyachna Radvanka" (the Society of Transcarpathian Roma "Roma"), the Hungarian Folk Dance Ensemble "Sonyakh" (Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts), Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir, Dance Ensemble "Rom Som" (Cultural Society of Transcarpathian Roma), Roma minority song ensemble of Perechyn District House of Culture.

In addition, soloists Yosyp Chava, Vitaly Horvat, Ivan and Mykola Hohas, Eduard Adam and the head of the Roma children ensemble "Lautari", Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Wilhelm Pap will also take part in the concert.

The beginning is at 15.00. The admission is free.

The concert will be preceded by a festive procession, which starts at 14.00 from the Philharmonic to the Uzh bank, which symbolic laying of flowers to the river will be held at 14.30.
