On Saturday, September 22, the first International Theater Festival "Monologues on the Uzh" started on the small stage of the Transcarpathian Regional Museum.
This is another large-scale project for the 1125th anniversary of Uzhgorod, – the City Council informed.
The first of the seven performances to be presented in our city by actors from several countries and cities of our country is "The Victim" performed by Mateusz Nowak from the Polish city of Lublin. "It is a drama about Stalin’s repressions against the intelligentsia in Poland, as Ukraine was not only the only one that suffered such shocks. It is a philosophical, dramatic and very interesting story", – the co-organizer of the festival, Mykhailo Nosa, noted. The monologue is from the point of view of a prisoner who suffered all the horrors of imprisonment in the middle of the twentieth century based of the memoirs of Pjotr Wozniak.
After the performance, the actor and the audience were greeted by Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv.
Tomorrow, on the stage of the regional puppet theater "Bavka", there will be a mono-performance "I am Nikolay Gumilev!" starring Ivane Kurasbediani from the State Academic Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Griboyedov, the city of Tbilisi, Georgia.
In addition, actors from other regions of Ukraine, as well as Romania and Slovakia, came to the festival in Uzhgorod. Recall that you can buy tickets at the box office of the puppet theater and the regional drama theater, "Dastor" supermarket.
The organizers of the festival in the regional center of Transcarpathia is the newspaper "Nedilya. Zakarpatski Novyny" and Uzhgorod City Council with the support of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
