The Information Center of Romania will open in Tyachiv district

On August 26, the Information Center of Romania (CIR) will officially open in the premises of the Solotvyno Village Council of Tyachiv District.  The Center is organized with the support of the Ministry of Romanians Abroad and is being implemented by the Romanian societies of Transcarpathia "Hope" (Speranţa) and "Maramureş", the website of the Consulate of Romania in Solotvyno informs.  The Ministry of Romanians Abroad announces that the Romanian Information Center is not a legal entity, but is designed to inform about the news, study Romanian language and culture.  The main functions of the Romanian Information Center:

– provision of materials for the study of the Romanian language to students, teachers and interested citizens;

– initiation and development of projects in the language sphere;

– organization of extracurricular activities aimed at spreading Romanian language and culture;

– holding cultural events;

– organization of celebration events during major public holidays;

– informing on the main events in the social and economic life of Romania;

– promotion of cross-border co-operation.

 For reference: The Romanian Information Center will be opened at the expense of the grant, which two cultural societies of the Romanians of Transcarpathia – "Maramures" and "Hope" – received back in July. The project amount is 22,250.00 Romanian lei.
