The Hungarian House has opened in Kyiv

This week, the Hungarian House was officially opened in Hungary, the MyHungary.Net reported. Now, Hungarians living in Kyiv can gather in the cultural center for different events. For example, it is planned to conduct Hungarian language courses, Sunday school, dance classes there… In addition, the Hungarian library will be opened in the Center.

The opening ceremony was attended by honored guests: the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Trade (Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Dr. Balog Csaba, the Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Erno Keskeny, the Deputy Secretary of State Jozsef Bacskai, as well as the authorized representative of the Government of Hungary for Ukrainian-Hungarian relations, Istvan Hrezha. All guests in their speeches emphasized the importance of the Hungarian House. István Hrezha expressed hope that soon all misunderstandings between the countries will be settled. Gyula Petnehazi, the head of the Association of Hungarians in Kyiv, said that there is now a great need for Hungarian language courses. Since currently, there are about five hundred ethnic Hungarians in the capital of Ukraine, 206 of whom are already members of the association. During the event, twice the ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Dmytro Tkach was given the award for friendship between the Ukrainian and Hungarian peoples. At present, the program of work of the Hungarian House has not yet been developed. However, the schedule of classes, courses and other events will be made in the near future. You can visit the center at: Kyiv, Sichovykh Striltsiv (former Artem) st., 21, of. 312.
