The Hungarian Government almost doubles the allowance for Transcarpathian Hungarian-speaking teachers

The Hungarian government decided to increase the financial aid for Hungarian-speaking teachers of Transcarpathia by more than 80%.

On Tuesday, this was announced at a meeting with Transcarpathian journalists in Budapest by the authorized representative of the Government of Hungary for coordinating cooperation between the Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region of Hungary and Transcarpathian region of Ukraine Istvan Hrezha.

"We fully support the teachers in Transcarpathian region and now have decided to raise the amount of the financial aid for teachers in schools with Hungarian language of instruction by more than 80%" – István Hrezha said.

According to Hrezha, currently such yearly allowance is 180 thousand forints per teacher, and from now on it will be 270 thousand forints per year, which is nearly 30 thousand hryvnia.
