Transcarpathian foresters, together with the "Regional Tourist Organization of Transcarpathia", held a meeting on the restoration of the jubillee Carpathian path. It is a tourist route, which was laid in 1929.
The trail is 343 kilometers long, it runs through the Carpathian mountains. Over 90 years, it unfortunately has been abandoned, and because of that Transcarpathian foresters decided to restore the historic route.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the first steps in restoration of the historic path, which will start from Uzhgorod, and will end in Yasinya. In particular, maps were thoroughly analyzed to plan the route. It will be a bit different that the historical one, since now there are highways on the old route. So, in order to make the tourist trail as attractive and ecologically clean as possible, the foresters will plan the exact route in March.
Following the meeting, the foresters and representatives of the "Regional Tourist Organization of Transcarpathia" agreed to conduct a survey of the territory for the Jubilee Carpathian path. They also developed a roadmap with places of recreation, sources with drinking water and mineral waters. Also the foresters will set up along the trail stands with information about a particular place (mountain, river, tract, etc.). They plan to solemnly open the Jubilee Carpathian path on the Day of the Forest Worker, September 14.
