The official’s illegal actions caused losses in the amount of almost 1.9 million hryvnias.
Operatives of the Economic Crime Department of the National Police in Transcarpathian region exposed the criminal scheme of appropriation of the budget funds allocated for the repair of the roads in the region.
Based on the gathered materials, investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police opened a criminal proceeding under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Operatives and investigators, under the procedural control of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, gathered evidence of the involvement of officers of the Transcarpathian Oblavtodor State Enterprise in organizing illegal activities.
Thus, the pre-trial investigation established that the director of the state enterprise and officials of a commercial entity developed a scheme to appropriate funds intended for construction and repair of roads. The Oblavtodor would buy from the company bitumen for repair and construction works. However, the price of the product was significantly higher than the market one.
A number of examinations have been appointed and conducted to establish the amount of damages incurred.
Currently, it has been established that the director of the Transcarpathian Oblavtodor State Enterprise and the company’s officials appropriated over UAH 1.9 million of budget funds.
Today, on March 14, with the approval of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, the director of the Oblavtodor was indicted of committing a criminal offense under Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Further procedural activities are being carried out to prosecute those involved in the crime.
