At the meeting with heads of districts and cities of the region, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal said that the implementation of measures to transfer the public sector to alternative, other than gas, heating would continue, along with efforts aimed at energy saving.
He reported that subsidies from the state budget received for this purposes at the end of 2014 in the amount of UAH 14.8 million, which were evenly distributed among administrative units of region, had been used and boiler rooms had been completed. This year, the regional budget provides nearly forty million hryvnia for energy saving.
Also, the head of the RSA thanked those districts and cities that were not waiting for funds from the state budget, and have found their own resources and transferred several schools and kindergartens to alternative heating. For example, Tyachiv and Mizhhirya districts found investors who invest in energy saving projects, and they are studying this practice to apply this experience at other facilities.
Vasyl Hubal said that together with the Regional Council they continue working on the distribution of the available balance in the budget – it amounts to about UAH 90 million. They have received propositions from cities and districts, the money will be evenly distributed for priority projects.
The head of the region also informed that at the next session of the Regional Council they would consider the draft decision, according to which significant resources are to be provided for the development of agriculture.
Speaking about the budget funds and their distribution, the head of the region reiterated that the use of funds must be transparent, and their administrators must be accountable to the community. He also emphasized on combating corruption, "I assure you: I do not have "special" tasks for anyone. We have one task – to work for the development of the region. I also have some advice: if someone wants to help, there is a way. It is the support for the combatants, our soldiers, who have a lot of needs. Assistance for them and their families is the only acceptable kind of "bribe". I encourage heads of regional and district authorities not to give reason to complain about the government, let us work honestly and once again – as transparently and openly as possible"
