The head of the municipal property management office of the Municipal Economy Department of the Uzhgorod City Council was caught when receiving $ 800 of undue benefit, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region reported.
Law enforcement officers recorded the official demanding and receiving the first part of the undue benefit in the amount of $ 800 for the conclusion of a lease agreement for a communal property in area of 32 square meters.
Subsequently, in return for $ 3,200, she promised to facilitate the privatization of the said property at a rate of $ 100 per square meter.
She demanded the money to be given to her live-in partner, from whom law enforcers seized the first part of the unlawful benefit.
The official was arrested in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine, she is to be notified of being suspected of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – extortion and reception of unlawful benefit by an official.
