The head of a kindergarten squandered public funds by occasionally forging official documents

Mukachevo local prosecutor’s office appealed to the court in the interest of the public represented by Svalyava city council to the head of a kindergarten in the district with a lawsuit to recover more than 24,000 UAH of damage caused by a criminal offense. The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding initiated over forgery and embezzlement of property through abuse of office determined that a resident of the city of Svalyava, working as the head of a kindergarten in a village of the district, during the period from March 2012 to February 2015, had been repeatedly committing official forgery, namely entering false information to the timesheets, giving rise to the payroll, thus committed embezzlement of budget funds in amount of over 24,000 UAH. Currently, the criminal proceeding, together with the prosecutor’s claim, is pending at the District Court and the accused will have not only to incur legal penalties but also to compensate the state the damage caused by her illegal actions.
