The Grape Mountain – a tourist attraction and symbol of the city – will be opened in Uzhgorod

On Friday, September 18, at 14.00, the official opening of the Grape Mountain (near the restaurant "Cilicia") will be held in Uzhgorod. The Grape Mountain is, on the one hand, a desire to return Uzhgorod the glory of a wine-making and vineyard city, as today there are no functioning vineyards within Uzhgorod, and the vine is one of the main symbols on the coat of arms. And on the other hand, it is the planned continuation and expansion of the tourist attractions in the city. 
The Grape Mountain is designed to become a tourist attraction of Uzhgorod. The area of ​​the vineyard is 1 hectare. In 2018, 1350 saplings of two varieties were planted on the mountain. Two years have passed since the day of planting, and this year the first harvest will be gathered. 
The program of the opening of Grape Mountain
– a mini-excursion and a history lecture from the chief tourism expert of the region, Professor Fedir Shandor; 
– presentation of the Grape Mountain and further plans for the development of a new tourist location from the owner and vice-president of the Transcarpathian Tourist Organization Arsen Melkumyan; 
– musical accompaniment from the string quartet; 
– gastronomic part – tasting of tolma made of grape leaves and informal communication.
