At today’s press conference, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration said that in general he is not happy with the management in Uzhgorod. "Yes, I am not satisfied with the current state of the city. However, anyone who visits me is surprised with Uzhgorod beauty. But there are many issues that do not require considerable funds" – Oleksandr Ledyda said.
He said: "I have a proposal to the deputies to begin the restoration of these architectural stucco moldings. You know the "Crystal" shop? It is a unique beautiful building, which was built long ago, and now it is crumbling like that … Together with the members of the City Council, I will propose to create a fund for the restoration of the old part of Uzhgorod. It requires little money to start the work … "
Here is the house, which the governor refers to.
Oleksandr Ledyda also said: "And there are large infrastructure projects, which we can not implement now, because there is no money. And comparing Uzhgorod with Presov or Kosice, we must understand that there are much less funds in the budget of the regional center than in those cities."
