Next year, Uzhgorod will host one of the key events of the bicycle community in Ukraine – "Bicyle forum", so Uzhgorod City Council invites experts to assist in the complex development of bicycle infrastructure in the city. The "Bicycle forum" is an inter-industry conference on the intersection of transport policy, sustainable local development and civil society. The main target groups of the conference are public sector activists, representatives of local authorities, specialists in urban planning and transport infrastructure, experts, the department of economic development of the city informs.
On this occasion, representatives of Urban Consulting Group (Ivano-Frankivsk), who have advanced experience in street design and transport research in Ukraine, have arrived to Uzhgorod. The company manager Viktor Zahreba presented in the City Council current solutions in the development of bicycle infrastructure in Uzhgorod. Right now, the focus is on formation of a route that will cover all coastal areas and logically link the existing infrastructure elements and bike paths.
Pavlo Logvinov, the head of the Economic Development Department of the city, emphasized that the right to host the "Bicycle forum" in Uzhgorod enables the representatives of the authorities, business and public sector to learn and get together in order to make Ukrainian cities comfortable for people.
The meeting was attended by members of the public, experts, heads of structural divisions of the city council, the chief architect of the city.
Recall that in 2020 the "Bicycle forum" in Uzhgorod will be held under the partnership of Uzhgorod city council and the agency for promoting the sustainable development of the Carpathian region "FORZA" as part of the cross-border project "BikeAccent: bicycle accessibility unites territories".
