The first in Transcarpathia “Uzhgorod Alarm Festival” starts on Friday (Announcement)

The Alarm Festival is an event not only for artists but, above all, it is a bold step for graffiti: from subcultural context to public art. The main goal of the festival is the making of murals (paintings on architectural structures) related to the location of the event – PADIYUN. The main inspiration is the monumental painting in the central lobby of the palace.

With the help of a group of invited artists, modern murals will appear on the building of the PADIYUN and become pride and highlight of not only the city, but also the region and the country. It is an East-European event that will bring together graffiti artists, documentary filmmakers and activists from Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia.  

Here is the program of the event:

14.10.2016 (Friday)

19:00 – Open lecture and discussion from the "Street Art Communications" (Kosice) and presentation of the foundation’s activities (lecture in English with an interpreter into Ukrainian language).

15.10.2016 (Saturday)

11:00 – continued painting (musical accompaniment by CoolD, Vibes.) 14:00 – opening of the exhibition City Station (exclusive stickers) in the "PADIYUN." The exhibition will last 1 week.
15:00 – Sketch Battle.

16.10.2016 (Sunday)

11:00 – continuation of the festival (musical accompaniment by Tudor).
11:00 – plein air "Favorite places of Uzhgorod" (emb. in front of the PADIYUN).
19:00 – end of the Alarm festival and presentation of murals, discussion of the works.
19.30 – Fire show.
