On September 5, multilateral technical consultations on resuming the full-fledged operation of the Uzhgorod International Airport will take place at the State Aviation Service (structural subdivision of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine). Representatives of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Civil Aviation of Slovakia, UkSATSE and the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration will participate in the special expanded meeting, – Hennadiy Moskal, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informed.
– I will personally go to Kyiv and will be insisting on speedy unblocking of the full-fledged operation of our airport, – Hennadiy Moskal said. – The main condition for this remains unchanged – the certification of UkSATSE (or its unit that will be working in Uzhgorod) by EASA for compliance with EU standards. At the end of July this year, at the meeting in Uzhgorod, we basically forced the State Aviation Service to give written consent for certification by sending an appropriate letter to the head of EASA Patrick Ki.
And next week we are meeting in Kyiv in order to finally dots the "i". I am saying frankly that the trust credit to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the State Aviation Service and UkSATSE, which are constantly promising to resume the full-fledged operation of Uzhgorod airport, but do not do anything for this, is almost exhausted. If the issue is not resolved on September 5, the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration will resolve it with the help of foreign investors. The relevant work has already begun.
Recall that at the end of July during an expanded meeting with the participation of deputy director of the Department of Air Navigation of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine Vitaliy Simak, Hennadiy Moskal promised to engage international carriers in solving the problem.
