The screening of the film "Odyssey" took place in the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library which closed the Festival of European Cinema.
The Festival of European Cinema is an initiative of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and invites to take a closer look at the best films of recent years made in the EU. The project is designed to promote European cinema.
The program of the Festival of European Cinema includes landmark films: winners of the Cannes Film Festival, nominees for best foreign language film "Oscar".
The European Film Festival started with the screening of the British film "Broken".The film tells about the life of eleven-year-old girl nicknamed Skunk. She has diabetes. The summer holidays have just started, and her days are filled with hope. But after she witnesses a terrible incident involving a neighbor and her friend Rick, her naive world gets rapidly destroyed. The film touches on the theme of "parents and children".
At the second screening in the library, they showed the film "Le tout nouveau testament" co-produced by Belgium, France and Luxembourg, which was nominated for the prize of the C.I.C.A.E. and the Cannes Film Festival.
This is the story of God who lives in an ordinary apartment in Brussels with his daughter. They have dificult relationship because of constant accusations and scandals, the daughter runs away from home. God sets out to find his daughter and realizes that it is not so easy to exist in the world that he created.
The European Film Festival finished with the screening of the French adventure biographical film "Odyssey." The film is about the life of the family of Jacques-Yves Cousteau after their relocation in 1948 to a house on the Mediterranean Sea and the lease of the ship "Calypso", which later became legendary.
In general, the screenings in the library were attended by about 80 visitors. So, more film screenings outside the project are scheduled in the library.
