The XVI International Festival of TV and radio programs for national minorities "My native land" begins on the 11th and runs until the 13th of September in Uzhgorod.
The participants will be Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia, Austria, Sweden.
54 television and 33 radio programs have been submitted for the competition.
The main idea of the festival is to show the life of national minorities, diversity of cultures, life, revival and enrichment of the spiritual heritage and traditions.
This year, TV jury is headed by two co-chairs – the official in charge of foreign relations of the National Media Support Fund Janos Havashi (Budapest, Hungary) and the founder and the chief editor of the online publication "Telekritika", the chair of the NGO "Telekritika", the General Director of the "Telekritika" LLC, the winner of the Gerd Bucerius Prize "Free Press of Eastern Europe", which is awarded to journalists for their professionalism and civic courage, Natalia Lygachova (Kyiv, Ukraine).
The radio jury is headed by Zoltan Pastor, the intendant of the Radio Kossuth (Budapest, Hungary).
Many exciting events are planned during this media forum. The "Tisa 1" TV channel will air two "Open Studios". The topic of the first one is "Ukrainians Abroad", of the second one – "Public TV in Ukraine."
The highlight of the festival will be numerous workshops, which this year will be conducted by experts representing the main TV channels of Hungary. They will teach the linguistic aspects, directing, cinematography, and more.
The organizers invite all colleagues from broadcasters of Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Khust, Beregovo, Vynogradiv, other cities of Transcarpathia, students and those interested in television and radio to attend these workshops.
Today, September 3, there will be a press conference, during which they will talk about the IX International Festival of TV and radio programs "My native land", to be held September 11-13 in Uzhgorod.
