The fatherland needs commitment and defense

On Thursday, April 9, at the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, there was a briefing of soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine. The commander of the fourth battalion of the military unit 3002 of the National Guard of Ukraine Oleksandr Glushchenko and a grenade launcher operator of a special purpose patrol platoon of the same military unit Eduard Balla talked to journalists, the press service of the RSA informs.

The soldiers recently returned from combat zone to their home station. 

         "In early March, we returned from near Donetsk where we performed tasks of public order ensuring in settlements and served at outposts. The priority tasks were protection of gas compressors and gas lines in Luhansk and Donetsk regions in sectors "B" and "C", – Oleksandr Glushchenko said.

The officer also said that during their service, they had detained five citizens suspected of separatism. "Inspecting vehicles moving in the direction from Donetsk to Ukraine, we seized explosives and armor. Local police opened criminal proceedings against those citizens", – the soldier stated.

By the way, mobilized persons serve along with contract soldiers. Now, the men are performing regular tasks at the base in Uzhgorod. In particular, maintain public order in the city and escort criminals. 

At the end of his speech, Oleksandr Glushchenko thanked all Transcarpathians for their help and all the volunteers who helped in the preparation and support during their stay in the ATO area with warm clothes, food, stoves and so on. The officer also thanked the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office in Transcarpathian region for support.

For his part, Eduard Balla, said that he had been called up for military service in 2013. He served one year in the Crimea in the Special Forces unit "Tiger", after the annexation of the Crimea, spent a few months in a military unit in Donetsk. When the military unit was captured by separatists he went to Lviv military unit. He decided to sign a contract because he cared for the fate of the motherland. And while serving under contact, he performs tasks in the unit.

The young man also urged all Transcarpathians concerned about the fate of Ukraine to join the army to protect and defend its sovereignty.
