Recall that the initiator of the event was the German public organization "Darmstadt supports culture". The curators on the German side are Klaus Bleicher and Paul Hirsch, on the Ukrainian side – Taras Tabaka. Both Uzhgorod and Darmstadt City authorities, the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, NGO "Darmstadt-Uzhgorod Partner Association", Darmstadt Union of Artists and the German-Ukrainian NGO "German-Ukrainian Circle of Friends" have actively contributed to the organization. The event was also supported by the German NGO "German-Ukrainian Circle of Friends".
Mariana Megela, the deputy director of the Transcarpathian Museum of Architecture and Rural Life, said that art has no boundaries, and also stressed that the museum staff were very honored to host such guests.
Klaus Bleicher, the chairman of the "Darmstadt Union of Artists", also greeted the audience, and also shared the positive impressions of staying in Uzhgorod.
The head of the "Darmstadt-Uzhgorod Partner Association" Victoria Synyo invited visitors to see the exhibits closer. The attendees also were able to talk with the authors of the works. In particular, the following German artists came to the event: Johanna Krimmel, Paul Hirsch, Kurt Wilhelm Hoffman, Eric Heine and Klaus Bleicher.
As we reported, the project’s goal is to show Transcarpathians the works by artists from the sister city in order to establish contacts with artists, sculptors and other creative people in Uzhgorod.
You will be able to visit the exhibition and admire the works by the members of the Darmstadt Union of Artists until September 7. The admission is free. The next step for strengthening the friendship of cultures between the twin cities will be the exhibition of Uzhgorod artists and sculptors in Darmstadt.
