The European Union representatives advised Ukraine how to switch to creative economy

On Wednesday, April 10, there was a sessional meeting of the working group "Ukraine – EU: cultural and social dimensions of European integration strategy of Ukraine."

The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the region Volodymyr Prikhodko, Consul General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova, representatives of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod, Consul of Ukraine in Presov Svitlana Svyshcheva, the director of the Regional Branch of the National Institute for Strategic Studies Svitlana Mytryayeva, representatives of the governments of Hungary and Slovakia, and journalists.

Today’s meeting was devoted to an innovative approach to regional development strategy, creative economy and creative industries cluster formation in the EU and Ukraine.

– Now some urban communities are centers of creativity and innovation. Thus clusters of creative industries are formed, which are common, open and creative environment for communication and cooperation to facilitate the production of high-quality new products. Many countries, including our neighbors – Hungary, Slovakia and Poland, have extensive experience in these matters. So now it is important is to create strategies for regional development in Ukraine and in the region in particular – Volodymyr Prikhodko said during a speech.

Consul General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova said:

– I am very pleased to participate in this event, which will allow to share the experience of joining the European Union with our Ukrainian counterparts. I am also glad that the Slovak city of Kosice today presents itself as the cultural capital of Europe.
