In the regional center of Transcarpathia, active people are helping doctors during the quarantine by bringing them hot dinners and coffee. They bring gastronomic gifts to those health care workers who work the night shift.
Entrepreneur Bohdan Popadich launched the initiative "Dinner for a Doctor" on Facebook. So, since April 9, they have been delivering delicious dinners and coffee to various health care facilities of the regional center. Food and coffee in the amount of more than 100 servings are delivered every night to health care workers who work with coronavirus patients – the pulmonology department of the regional and Uzhgorod city hospitals, the regional infective hospital, the cardio center.
To make the portions nutritious, they always add meat; during the fasting period they included fish. Some help with money, others with ready made meals, cakes, roasted coffee and milk to it, and yet others with transportation.
Interestingly, Vitaliy Matyovka, a resident of the village of Kiblyary, donated a large bag of homemade canned food. Although he lost both his legs, he is optimistic about life. He drives a taxi and helps doctors, because they saved him once.
In one of the largest grocery supermarkets in the city, there is a cart where anyone can leave some food for doctors. Another important thing, Bohdan Popadich says, is the control over the spending of donated money and food. The initiator reports daily about the deliveries on Facebook. He assures that the Dinner for a Doctor will continue until the end of the quarantine.
