Yesterday, in the village of Bila Tserkva in Rakhiv district, there was the celebration of the Day of neighbourleness between Ukraine and Romania. The celebration took place after a 13-year break, the last time it was held in the city of Siget Marmatiei (border town in Romania) in 2002.
The official part began on neutral territory in the middle of the bridge over the Tisa which marks the state border. From there Ukrainian and Romanian delegations went to the stadium of Bila Tserkva, where the celebrations took place. The Ukrainian party was represented by the head of the RSA Hennadiy Moskal, the head of Rakhiv district state administration Pavlo Basarab and other officials, the Romanian delegation was represented by the prefect of Maramures Anton Rohian and the Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi Eleonora Moldovan.
– They say that relatives and neighbors are given to you by God, but you choose your friends yourself! – H.Moskal said in his welcoming speech. – We were lucky: Transcarpathia and Maramures are relatives, friends and good neighbors at once! Congratulations to all – Ukrainians and Romanians – on the holiday!
Folk groups of border regions of both countries performed for the guests of the festival, and then H.Moskal and A.Rohian signed the "Protocol on Joint Actions in 2016" on economic and cultural cooperation between Transcarpathian and Maramures.
