The “Crown” was divided and now will be sold. The mayor says that all is well

Members of the executive committee divided the historical complex "Crown", which is located in the city center, namely, parts of the building were given different addresses. This decision was supported by the present executive committee members unanimously.

Social activist Oleksandr Volosyansky reported that this decision is aimed to "cover up the illegal fact that earlier in the announcement of the competition for the selection of evaluation activities subjects the area of the facility (the "Crown") was specified as 3882 square meters, and according to the conclusion on the cost of the valued property, made by the PE "Consulting firm "Kiprida", the building of the "Crown" has an area of 2854.3 square meters (the difference in area is over 1000 square meters). Once it became known during the trial, the officials could not dare to a deliberate crime (to sell 3882 square meters instead of 2854 square meters according to estimates of the PE "Kiprida"), and now they have to sell only 2854 square meters of the complex (as indicated in the assessment), and the other 415 sq.m. or more they may then sell to the same winner of the tender ("Hotel Project Consulting Ltd" JSC).

This version was confirmed in December last year by the press service of the Prosecutor of Transcarpathian region, "The Director of the Municipal Economy Department of Uzhgorod City Council, contrary to the Law of Ukraine "On privatization of small state-owned enterprises (small privatization)," approved the conclusion about the value of the "Crown" without proper valuation of one of the complex buildings in area of over 1,000 square meters, while the facility was sold as a whole."

Meanwhile, the Mayor Victor Pogorelov commented on the reduction of the the area of the "Crown" and the assignment of a different address to the part of the building as follows: "The "Crown" was not a subject of discussion (on the executive committee – Ed.).It is about the neighboring building, which was added to the "Crown" complex in the 1991 or 92, we just left it in communal ownership."

Apparently, the court did not leave the architectural monument in the ownership of Uzhgorod community. However, the prosecutors made it so that at least one building remained the communal property. But, the municipality may put it up for sale soon.

Recall that a number of experts and public figures have emphasized that the "Crown" complex was sold at unreasonably low price.

However, according to the Mayor Victor Pogorelov, he does not have any objections to the disposition of the building.
