The COVID situation aggravating: additional beds for patients are planned to be deployed in Uzhgorod

The number of patients with coronavirus is increasing. Because of this, new facilities for the patients are being prepared in the regional center of Transcarpathia.

Today, November 4, there was a conference call with the participation of heads of cities, districts, medical institutions of the region, the regional health department chaired by the first deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleh Kotsyuba. This was reported by the Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv.

According to the mayor, it is necessary to determine in advance possible locations for additional beds for patients if such necessity arises.

The mayor believes that such premises must first of all be suitable for medical needs. In Uzhgorod, those are the hospital for war veterans on Leo Tolstoy Street (about 70 beds), Medical Center "Rehabilitation" on Velykokamyana Street (about 100 beds) and the military hospital (60 beds). Of course, before that up to 50% of beds must be allocated in the regional hospital (currently only 85 out of 582) and in the center of pulmonary diseases (currently 50 out of 255).
