The court decided to take Istvan Tsap into custody

Thus the appeal of the prosecution, which demanded to change house arrest to detention, was granted, but only partially – the Mukachevo.net writes.

The prosecution demanded 10 times greater bail than that imposed today, namely 2,560,000 UAH.

However, at today’s meeting of the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region, it was decided to take Istvan Tsap into custody until March 24 with a bail in amount of 240,000 UAH.

Note that last week, by the decision of Uzhgorod city and district court, the First Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod was put under house arrest for 2 months and suspended from office for the period of the investigation. This decision was challenged today.

Also, on February 7, the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region revised pretrial restraints against 2 other defendants in the case: the amounts of bail for them were increased.

Recall that Istvan Tsap is one of the official suspects in the criminal case on extortion and taking bribes for land-related decisions.
