Bishop of the Reformed Community of the region Sandor Zan Fabian, a native of the village of Vary in Beregovo district, became the chairman of the Council of Churches of Transcarpathia.
Recall that Vasyl Raichynets, the senior bishop of the Ukrainian Evangelical Church, who held this post, passed away on July 4, at the age of 67. Therefore, at the meeting of the clergy of different denominations in the region, the issue of electing a new chairman of the CCT was a priority one.
Those present unanimously elected Sandor Zan Fabian the chairman of the Council of Churches of the region.
The participants of the meeting observed a minute of silence in memory of Vasyl Raichynets and also the recently departed Bishop of the Greek Catholic Church of the region Milan Shashik.
