The problem with drinking water, which has been very pressing in Chop for decades, has finally come to be solved. The construction of a new water intake, which in the future will supply clean drinking water to the city residents, has solemnly begun in the city park. The work is financed from the city budget and the State Fund for Regional Development, the total cost of construction is about 20 million hryvnias, of which 6 million have been currently allocated. The Mayor of Chop Valeriy Samardak and the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the work commencement.
– Water will be extracted from four wells, initially one of them will be launched, and then the rest, – H. Moskal noted at the opening. – I want to remind that now water in Chop is supplied from the Latorytsia, so its quality can not even be compared with artesian water. Here, a modern water intake with a pump room is being built, which will allow to improve the city park and will benefit the citizens.
