The completed project of the future monument to the fallen heroes of the ATO will be presented in Uzhgorod

On October 13, at 9:30, in the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, there will be the presentation of the monument to people, who gave their lives for Ukraine during the anti-terrorist operation. 

Recall that from February 13 to May 13, 2016, all professional sculptors had a chance to present to the competent jury their projects subject to the terms of the contest, which had been published by the RSA Department of Culture through official regional media. 

Then, three known regional sculptors – Vasyl Olashyn, Vasyl Roman and Mykhailo Belen – submitted their projects. Layouts with the authors’ visions of the concept of the future monument were presented to experts at the thematic meetings and exhibited in the lobby of the RSA building for the public and the media. 

Eventually, Mykhailo Belen was awarded with the third place, Vasyl Roman – with the second, and Vasyl Olashyn won the first place and the right to perpetuate the memory of the fallen heroes of the ATO on the Hill of Glory in Uzhgorod. 

The project is likely to be implemented next year. But the sculptor is ready to present the completed project of the future monument now. 

The project will be presented on Thursday by Vasyl Olashyn and the head of the Department of Culture of the Regional State Administration Victoria Frolova. All comers are invited.
