Who is the best logger in Transcarpathia?

Today, they tried to answer this quite relevant question at the Synevyr pass.

The event "Logger 2016" took place there. The competition of loggers is actually a traditional event. But for the first time, this competition has become almost like a festival.

It took place not in the forest as before, but in a specially arranged area. Since this is how similar competitions are held in Europe, Transcarpathia has become the first region in Ukraine to introduce such a format.     

Overall, they competed in five exercises: tree felling; combined trunk bucking (sawing of a log with a chainsaw into equal 3 to 5 cm thick plates so that top and bottom sections coincide); sawing of a log with a two-handed saw and splitting of a log; removal of boughs and strict bucking (cutting according to marks).

The winners were determined by the total amount of points in all exercises. In the team event, representatives of Vynogradiv forestry took the third place, Velyky Berezny forestry- second place, and Mizhhirya forestry won the competition. And in the individual competition, the winner was Mykhailo Syta – also from Mizhhirya district.      

And, yet, the question of who will be responsible for restoration of forests in Transcarpathian region today remained rhetorical… See the moments of the competition with saws and axes in the photographs.
