Transcarpathian Regional State Administration announces an open competition for the best design of the monument to the victims of 1932-1933 Holodomor.
The task for the competition is to reflect the important historical event in the life of Ukraine by means of monumental sculpture at a high artistic level and taking the features of the environment into account, particularly the scale, space, landscape and architectural ensemble at the installation site of the future monument – Narodna Sq., 2 (near the building of the Medical Faculty of Uzhgorod National University).
The competition is open to collectives and individual authors who have the necessary professional training.
The entries should be submitted to the Department of Culture of the RSA on a sketch-board with signatures. A closed envelope containing names, occupations, addresses of the authors and distribution of the prize in percents should be attached to the sketch-board.
Thus, the prize for the third place in the contest will be 6,000 UAH, for the second – 10,000 UAH, and the author of the best design will sign an agreement on the installation of the monument.
The design sketches will be accepted until May 15, this year. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered by the jury.
