The City Council wants to make the contractor pay damages for poor repair of Peremoha street

The Economic Court of Transcarpathian region upheld the claim of the Uzhgorod City Council to the contractor for damages for poor repair of Peremoha Street

In particular, it has been established that the contractor did the road surface poorly – violating the specifications and regulatory requirements. Even before the completion of major repairs, there were numerous defects and sinking.
In accordance with the law, the court decision comes into force after the expiration of the 20-day time limit for appealing it. We will inform about further progress in this case.

As already reported, the Uzhgorod City Council demands in court compensation for poor repair of Peremoha street performed by the previous contractor: the lawsuit to collect 895 thousand 380 hryvnias from the "Oleksandria CAPITAL" LLC was filed to the Economic Court of Transcarpathian Region.
 

According to the contract, the contractor had to complete all works by December 20, 2017, but for unknown reasons they were not completed in time, and those, that were, were performed poorly, which caused the territorial community of Uzhgorod material damage at the specified amount. Everything is confirmed by the findings of the court expert.

Thanks to the coherent work of the Legal Support Department and the Department of Municipal Economy of the Uzhgorod City Council, the evidence was collected, the statement of claim was prepared. Yesterday, December 10, 2018, the Economic Court of Transcarpathian region upheld the claims in full and recovered in favor of the city territorial community the damage in amount of UAH 895 thousand 380. Among other things, the court expenses in amount of UAH 40 thousand 369.36 were recovered to the city budget. – the Uzhgorod city council informs.
