As the head of the "land" department of the City Council Marukhnych Tetyana informed the members of the executive committee at today’s meeting, there are about 6,000 applications for provision of land plots, in total area of about 350 hectares, pending in city services.
"The city lacks land – Victor Pogorelov said in his comments to uzhgorod.in. – Wherever you put your finger on the map – the land is given away. But it is not being used. Perhaps because of the crisis and people do not have money. Only 10% of the land allocated by the previous government – which is about 400 hectares – have been used."
The city authorities will appeal to the regional government to return the land which once was given to Uzhgorod district – the mayor said. "I will speak to the head of RSA in order to remain the city limits, as they were, and to approve the master plan with these limits. I think he will agree, because Uzhgorod is the regional center. And by the way, nearby villages councils, such as Velyki Lazy, have to understand that if businesses use city infrastructure, then they have to pay taxes also to Uzhgorod."
