February 16, 2015 marks the 69th annniversary of the founding of the Chop border guard detachment. In 2003, the unit received its present name – Chop border guard detachment.
On the occasion of the celebration, representatives of the local authorities, cooperating agencies, and border guard veterans came to congratulate border guards. First of all, the participants observed a minute of silence in memory of Victor Shepental and Robert Kis, who died on military duty in the ATO area. Border guards of the detachment were awarded diplomas and gratitude. Congratulations to the border guards were followed by musical gifts from students of Chop city music school.
Note: today, the Chop border guard detachment consists of 11 divisions of the Border Guard Service, mobile border guard station and subdivisions. Border control is carried out at 10 checkpoints.Since the outbreak of hostilities in eastern Ukraine, over five hundred soldiers have performed their military duty in the ATO area.
