Representatives of the Hungarian community of Mukachevo initiate the reburial of bodies of Soviet soldiers buried in the center of Mukachevo, on Myr square, and the dismantling of the memorial to soldiers-liberators and restoration of the original appearence of the central square which it had before 1944.
This was announced in the post on the social network Facebook, which appeared last Saturday in the group "Munkácsi magyarok" (Hungarians of Mukachevo): "I would like to ask everyone to give a brief answer. As we all know, the beautiful city center and the main square is defaced by the false cemetery. Officially, the symbol of "liberation" and the victory of the Soviet Army over Hungarian and German fascist invaders is intended to promote and celebrate the victory. It is time to put the dead back to the cemetery, to dismantle the monument and restore the face of the city which it had before 1944."
Now they conduct a poll in the group. As of 9:30, 88 people have voted who unanimously supported the dismantling of the memorial and reburial of the bodies of Soviet soldiers at the city cemetery, Panorama Mukachevo reported.
