The case over the accident, involving the Chief of the Police Yatskanych, has been referred to court

Prosecutor of Mukachevo district completed a criminal investigation into the resonant accident, which took place April 20, 2011 between the villages of Nyzhniy Koropets and Dertsen in Mukachevo region, which resulted in the death of one person and moderate injuries of another.

According to the senior investigator of the department for monitoring investigation of criminal cases by prosecutor’s investigators of the region Dmytro Kirilenko, the driver of the resourcing sector of Volovets district police department S. has been brought to criminal liability under paragraph 2 of section 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which for violation of traffic safety that caused the victim’s death provides for punishment by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles up to three years or without the same.
The criminal investigation in this case has revealed that S. driving official car "VW Passat", where as the passenger there was the chief of Beregovo District Police Y., in violation of traffic rules, exceeded the maximum speed and collided with a car "Chevrolet Niva" driven by T.  As a result of the accident the driver T. died at the scene, and the passenger of the Volkswagen Y. received injuries of moderate severity.
October 31 this year, the criminal case was forwarded to court for consideration on the merits – informed the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
