The British were asking about Uzhgorod and its possibilities

Today, in Uzhgorod City Council, there was the meeting of the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod Oleksandr Bilak with the First Secretary of the British Embassy in Ukraine Robert Urtuisen Dunn, the representative of the Ministry of International Development at the Embassy Rachel Williams and the project coordinator of the Policy, Economy and Public Affairs Department of the Embassy Svitlana Yavorska.

Answering the guests’ questions, Oleksandr Bilak informed about the peculiarities of the Transcarpathian regional center, in particular, multinationality and multiculturalism, the current situation in the city, marked by tolerance and mutual respect. "Even if some events with a negative context happen, they are brought from the outside and incited provocatively to make a "picture" for the media", – Oleksandr Bilak said.
Representatives of the Embassy were asking about the decentralization, what it gave to Uzhgorod, infrastructure projects, the work of the city authorities, cooperation with the regional authorities, measures to increase the safety of the city, visa-free travel, and so on.
They also discussed in detail the participation of our city in international programs, the presentation of joint projects with twin cities in the framework of cross-border cooperation. The diplomats offered to provide information on the programs announced by the Embassy to support and finance the implementation of various projects in Ukraine.
