Today, December 23, Khust district court decided on the preventive measure in the form of detention against the head of the correspondence department of the Transcarpathian state forestry higher education institution "National Forestry University of Ukraine".
It was preceded by his arrest by the police on December 20; in his office the police officers found and seized 6830 UAH received from students – Khust interdistrict prosecutor Ivan Kailo reported.
The teacher demanded and received this money – the prosecutor said – from the external students for passing the tests, examinations and absenteeism. Thus, the head of the correspondence department was detained and notified on suspicion of a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit by an official).
