The good tradition of holding the Days of Ukraine and Slovakia’s Neighborliness continues. For eighteen consecutive years, the friendly countries have been showing the strength of their cooperation and partnership with these festive events that include business and cultural entertainment elements.
This year, the event for the first time was held in the border village of Ubl’a of the Snina district in Presov region.
The delegation from Ukraine headed by the chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis and the deputy head of the Regional State Administration Victor Mikulin were welcomed by the Slovak party represented by the head of the Presov self-governing region Milan Majerski and the head of the Kosice self-governing region Rostislav Trnka.
The event began with the performance of the anthems of Ukraine, Slovakia and the European Union, after which the heads of the delegations made their speeches.
The official part, which included the signing of the Executive Protocol on cooperation between the border regions of the two countries for the next twelve months (until May 2020), was followed by a cultural and entertainment part of the holiday – performances of folk groups from both countries, exhibitions of works by craftsmen, informal communication and tasting of dishes and drinks.
