The bombing of the office of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia was classified as a terrorist act

Today, Uzhgorod city and district court is choosing a pre-trial restraint against two suspects in the bombing of the office of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia (SHCT) in Uzhgorod on February 27, – the Ukrinform reported. 

The prosecutors requests detention without bail. At the moment, the crime is classified as a terrorist act.

This was reported by the press secretary of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office Victoria Popovich.

"The Uzhgorod city and district court is choosing a pre-trial restraint against two residents of Kropyvnytsky suspected of bombing the office of the SHCT in Uzhgorod on February 27, – she said. – The case is being considered in Uzhgorod because this is were the offense was comitted. The prosecutor’s office requests for both defendants detention without the right of bail. They are charged with deliberate destruction of and damage to someone else’s property, yesterday a new charge was added – namely a terrorist act," – Popovich said.

According to her, the pre-trial investigation in the case continues. Investigators have already questioned the suspects. At present, their motives for bombing the office of the SHCT are not disclosed.

Recall that on February 27, the office of the "KMKSZ Party of Hungarians of Ukraine" burned down. An explosive device set by the attackers detonated.
