The holiday period is not far off, so it is worth reminding that Transcarpathia is truly a unique land, worthy of being visited and admired. No matter what you choose, event holidays and visits to the numerous festivals that are held here, or maybe gastronomic tours or spa recreation – there are many historical, cultural and natural monuments here.
In particular, it is worth mentioning the longest lime alley in Europe, or 2.2 km of spicy aromas in combination with magnificent city views. It is located on the bank of the Uzh river.
Like sakuras, limes appeared in the city during the Czech period, and the Czechs knew exactly what Uzhgorod needed to become a cozy and European city. There are legends about a capsule, which is buried under one of the trees, and who knows what treasures can be found there. But even without treasure hunt, walking along the lime alley / promenade is very pleasant and even beneficial.
It should be noted that lime is a medicinal and honey plant. It has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic, bactericidal effect. It also contains a significant amount of ascorbic acid (up to 31.6%), and because of this it is used to treat cold.
To be continued…
